North Lincoln High School claimed the 5A West regional cross country title on Saturday, with its girls and boys teams both taking the championship in a regional sweep. The girls' victory extended a streak of six consecutive state titles, a mark that defined their performance in the race. The team secured the win by occupying the first seven positions in the field.

Sophomore Bella Jaworsky led the North Lincoln girls, crossing the line in 18:52.06. Teammates Kate Evonuk, Cambelle Reffner, Ella Myers, Finley Evans, Georgia Viverette, and Emma Donnellan finished in second through seventh place, respectively. On the boys' side, the school returned to previous standards after a recent dip in performance. The team placed four runners in the top 10, including senior Eli Rush, who finished second. Caleb Trotter took fourth, Immerson Krawiecki placed sixth, and Oliver St. Jean finished seventh.

In the 3A West girls race, Pine Lake Prep High School secured its second consecutive regional title. The team advanced with three finishers in the top five and two more in the top 10. Senior Maya Little finished second overall, followed by teammates Lyla Henneger and Sophia Whyte in third and fourth. Seniors Carly Meredith and Bella Cuesta also contributed with sixth and eighth place finishes.

Christ the King Academy won the 2A West girls regional, edging out its local rival, Community School of Davidson. The Crusaders' victory was driven by senior Shea Roche, who won the individual race in 18:39.4. Her time was nearly a full minute faster than the next competitor. Anna White finished third, Maddie Matera eighth, and Tara Williams tenth for Christ the King.

The Community School of Davidson Spartans remained competitive, placing three runners in the top 10. Anasofia Morell finished second, Samantha McMullin took fourth, and Ayla August placed seventh in the race.

The state championships will take place this weekend at the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville. The 1A through 4A classifications will compete on Friday, Nov. 6. The 5A through 8A classifications will race on Saturday, Nov. 7.
