The Guilford County Veterans Memorial will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony this Sunday at 2 p.m. The gathering is set in Greensboro’s Country Park, specifically at 3905 Nathanael Greene Drive. The event marks the yearly commemoration for local service members and their families.
The program includes specific local participants. Danielle Anderson, a singer and culinary instructor at Guilford Technical Community College, will sing the national anthem. Students from the Grimsley High School Army JROTC will present the colors. Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. William Trivette, a West Point graduate, will deliver the featured speech.
The memorial board has organized additional activities for those who stay after the formal rites. Attendees can join a guided tour of the site. The board also plans to showcase informational kiosks. These displays aim to let visitors read about individual veterans and the experiences behind their service.
Susan Danielsen, the chair of the Veterans Memorial Board, noted the local involvement in the release. She said the area has a strong tradition of honoring veterans. She pointed to the participation of local students, educators, and veterans as evidence of that spirit.
Danielsen described the event as a personal expression of community gratitude. She highlighted the role of the families who stood beside those who served. The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the memorial site in Country Park.
