Sublime will play two consecutive nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre next spring. The concerts are scheduled for Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18, placing the performances just three days before the widely observed April 20 date in Colorado.
The tour coincides with two milestones for the group. It marks the 35th anniversary of the 1996 album 40 OZ to Freedom. It also celebrates the release of Until the Sun Explodes, the band’s first new studio record in thirty years.
Jakob Nowell, son of late frontman Bradley Nowell, now leads the lineup. Bradley Nowell died in 1996 from a heroin overdose. The band plans to perform the full 40 OZ to Freedom album during the shows. This set will include the popular track Santeria.
The timing of the Denver dates aligns with the band’s strong association with the unofficial cannabis holiday celebrated throughout the state. The live performances will serve as a soundtrack for the annual observance.
Presale tickets become available through AXS.com on Wednesday, November 4, at 10 a.m. General public sales start on Friday, November 6.
