Patsy Kensit has confirmed that her character Sadie King will soon cross paths with Graham Foster in a key scene for the soap opera Emmerdale. The actress revealed the update during a recent interview, noting that she filmed the sequence with Andrew Scarborough, who portrays Graham, just a few days prior in the village set.
The storyline centers on Sadie's renewed alliance with Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous. Kensit explained that Sadie is driven by a desire to return to an affluent lifestyle. The character requires a cash injection from Joe to fund this comeback. This financial motivation pushes Sadie to continue her campaign against the Miligan family, specifically targeting the marriage of Caleb and Ruby.
Kensit stated that Sadie feels a sense of jealousy toward Ruby's marriage. The actress said, 'She also looks at Caleb and Ruby's marriage and it's painful for her because she would love what Ruby has.' This emotional drive complements Sadie's materialistic goals as she seeks to destabilize the couple.
The plot unfolds in the Woolpack pub where Sadie secretly spikes Ruby's mocktails. Ruby has recently decided to stop drinking alcohol entirely. Sadie flirts with Ross Barton, played by Michael Parr, and eventually swaps the tipsy Ruby into the scene. When Caleb arrives, he witnesses Ruby falling onto Ross. Sadie texts Caleb to lure him into the pub without correcting his assumption that something occurred between Ruby and Ross.
Kensit described the manipulation as precise. 'Sadie's really manipulated him coming in there to try and damage their marriage,' she said. Caleb believes he has caught Ruby with Ross. Although Sadie knows the truth, she remains silent. This silence allows Sadie to sleep with Caleb, a move Kensit says stems from genuine attraction rather than just strategy.
Caleb is left confused when he learns Ruby did not go home with Ross. Ruby begins to suspect Sadie's involvement. Kensit confirmed that Sadie has another plan in store for the couple. The actress also praised her co-stars William Ash and Beth Cordingly, who play Caleb and Ruby respectively. She called the set 'a really lovely show' and expressed enjoyment working with the cast.
The upcoming episodes will test the resilience of the Miligan marriage against Sadie's calculated schemes. The character's history of causing trouble in the village sets the stage for these new confrontations. Kensit's comments provide a clear roadmap for the next phase of the story arc.
