Prince William told audiences on The Graham Norton Show that his attempt to become a disc jockey ended in failure. Speaking on the October 23 episode, the future King of England described his youth as a time when he went through a specific phase of wanting to mix music, a pursuit he noted did not go very well.
The prince revealed that he had already chosen a stage name for his musical persona. He identified himself as 'DJ Xara,' emphasizing that the name included the letter X. To demonstrate the spelling, William crossed his arms in the shape of the letter during the interview. Fellow guest Cate Blanchett asked if the gesture was one of his standard moves, but William clarified that he did not actually perform that move in his sets.
He admitted the concept rapidly became very uncool for him. William stated that he never got good at the craft. Hannah Waddingham, another guest on the show, agreed with his assessment, calling the entire idea rubbish. Robert Irwin was also present for the conversation.
William is currently the heir to the British monarchy. He and his wife, Kate Middleton, have three children: Prince George, who is 13, Princess Charlotte, who is 11, and Prince Louis.
