Maggie Litz Domanowski and Kelli Slattery McClelland are competing for the Baltimore County Board of Education seat in District 3. The position carries the authority to set educational policy, approve the district budget, and hire the school system superintendent. The board operates as a fully elected body, though terms and selection methods vary across different districts.

Domanowski, 47, currently holds the office she is seeking. She earned a bachelor's degree from Towson University. Her professional history includes 20 years as a full-time administrative assistant. She also serves as the treasurer for the Fallston Football Recreation Program. Domanowski is married and has three children.

McClelland, 44, presents a different professional profile. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Metropolitan State University and a master's degree in applied sociology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She maintains an active Maryland professional teaching license. Her experience includes working as a special education teacher in a public school system and as an adult basic education instructor at BCCC. She has also worked as a learning specialist providing executive function support.

McClelland currently works as a full-time caregiver to her brother. She previously managed the victim outreach program for a nonprofit that supports families of truck crash victims. In that role, she advocated for safer truck legislation. She also held roles in higher education involving instructional duties, academic support, and grant coordination. McClelland is married and has two children and four stepchildren.

The candidates offer distinct backgrounds in administration and education. Domanowski brings experience as a current board member and administrative assistant. McClelland brings a teaching license and experience in special education and victim advocacy. Both will seek votes from residents in District 3 to secure the board seat.
