Hispanic voters in Mecklenburg County cast 16,137 ballots during the early voting period, a figure that exceeds the total Hispanic turnout for the entire 2022 midterm election.

State voting data through October 31 indicates that these 16,137 votes represent approximately 5.4% of the 299,003 ballots cast in the county so far. In the 2022 midterm, Hispanic participation totaled 11,141 votes.

Women constituted the majority of this demographic group, casting about 60% of the Hispanic ballots. Young voters also drove participation, with more than 9,000 individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 voting. This age bracket accounts for roughly 56% of the total Hispanic vote, including 4,323 voters aged 18 to 25 and 4,722 voters aged 26 to 40.

Party affiliation data shows that registered Democrats cast the largest share of Hispanic ballots, totaling 8,407. An additional 6,404 voters were unaffiliated, while 1,249 were registered Republicans.

Democratic leaders are watching these numbers closely as they seek to replicate a blue wave in Tuesday's election. Their strategy relies partly on winning back Hispanic voters who shifted toward the Republican Party during the 2024 presidential election.
