Stephen Curry scored 44 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 119-114 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night in Minneapolis.

The win marked Golden State's second consecutive success after it fell in its first three games of the season. Yaxel Lendeborg contributed 26 points, while Brandon Williams added 11 from the bench.

Minnesota played without star forward Anthony Edwards for the first time since the team announced he would undergo a procedure on his right knee. The Timberwolves expect Edwards to miss approximately two months of action.

Jonathan Kuminga led the host offense with 20 points against his former team. Jaden McDaniels and Terrence Shannon Jr. each recorded 19 points, and Ayo Dosunmu finished with 17.

Golden State established a commanding lead early in the contest. The Warriors outscored Minnesota 21-9 in the final minutes of the first quarter to take a 30-23 advantage. That lead grew to 24 points midway through the second half when Curry converted a three-point play for a 78-54 margin.

Minnesota mounted a late push to close the gap. The Timberwolves outscored the Warriors 66-55 in the second half, narrowing the deficit to 12 points after a 27-15 run at the end of the third quarter. Bones Hyland entered from the bench and hit two 3-pointers to keep the team within striking distance.

The Warriors led 93-81 at the end of the third quarter. In the final seconds, Hyland made a bank shot to reduce the lead to three points. Curry then sank two free throws to end the game.
